ThreeV.ai is a cutting-edge B2B SaaS platform specializing in Synthetic Data generation and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) for inspections. These industries heavily rely on Computer Vision to enhance the efficiency of asset inspections, automate processes, and prevent catastrophic incidents. Currently, Data Scientists spend an extensive amount of time gathering and labeling training data, which is both time-consuming and fragmented. Additionally, they struggle to obtain critical failure state images (edge cases) essential for defect detection when inspecting assets.

ThreeV.ai provides the solution by leveraging Synthetic Data—data generated through 3D environments and Generative AI that closely mimics real-world data. Our platform enables customers to create Synthetic Data, combine it with real-world data, and efficiently develop their Computer Vision models. This results in improved computer vision model performance, faster and more effective inspections, and as a result enhanced safety.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled 3D Designer to join our team and play a pivotal role in creating 3D assets, worlds and environments to be used as synthetic data for computer vision training. As a 3D Designer, you will be responsible for developing photorealistic and highly detailed 3D environments that simulate real-world scenarios, enabling our computer vision algorithms to learn and adapt effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3D design and should preferably have experience working with NVidia Omniverse, as well as a proven track record in creating optimized assets for real-time 3D applications, such as gaming, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR).

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with client and data science team to conceptualize and design 3D assets, worlds and environments that replicate real-world settings, with a strong focus on realism and detail.
• Create 3D models, textures, and assets to populate these environments, ensuring they meet the requirements of computer vision training.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, computer vision machine learning engineers, to define project goals and deliver synthetic data that supports their research and development efforts.
• Optimize 3D assets for real-time performance, paying attention to polygon counts, texture resolution, and Level of Detail (LOD).
• Stay updated and have a keen interest on 3D industry trends and technologies such as GenAI for 3D, text to 3D, and bring innovative ideas to improve the quality and efficiency of the synthetic data generation process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in art, graphic design, 3D design, computer graphics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software, such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
• Experience with NVidia Omniverse is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated expertise in creating assets for real-time 3D applications, such as gaming or AR/VR.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• A keen eye for detail, a passion for creating immersive 3D environments, and the ability to adapt to evolving technology and project requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as 3D design, computer graphics, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in 3D design, modeling, and texturing, with a portfolio showcasing your work.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software, such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.

• Familiarity with real-time 3D application development and optimization techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A basic understanding of computer vision concepts and their relevance to synthetic data generation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A master's degree or additional specialized training in 3D design, computer graphics, or a related field.
• Proficiency with NVidia Omniverse
• In-depth knowledge of optimization techniques for real-time 3D assets, including polygon reduction, texture compression, and LOD strategies.
• Prior experience in creating synthetic data for computer vision or machine learning applications.
• Understanding of computer vision principles and the ability to tailor 3D designs to specific computer vision training needs.
• Ability to innovate and propose creative solutions using GenAI to challenges in 3D world and environment creation.

An intermediate to advanced level candidate should ideally meet the preferred qualifications, but candidates with the minimum qualifications and a strong portfolio demonstrating their expertise in 3D design will also be considered. The ability to work effectively in a collaborative and dynamic team environment and adapt to evolving technology and project requirements is crucial for success in this role.

Experience:

• At minimum 3-5 years required in 3D Modeling

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in art, graphic design, 3D design, computer graphics, or a related field.

• Technical Proficiency: Mastery of 3D design tools and techniques is paramount for this role. As part of the 3D team you will be expected to have proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software and guide the team on the principles of 3D design.
• Creativity: Creativity is fundamental to creating visually appealing and photorealistic 3D worlds, objects, or environments that meet the needs of our clients. An interest and understanding of the latest industry trends especially in regards to Generative AI for 3D will be important to success in this role. You will be expected to incorporate the latest technologies if beneficial to our content workflows.  
• Attention to Detail: Success in computer vision depends on meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every element, from textures to lighting, is well-crafted and realistic. Attention to detail is important for this role.  
• Problem-Solving: 3D design often involves technical challenges and optimization for real-time applications. A successful designer is a capable problem-solver who can find innovative solutions.
• Adaptability: The ability to adapt to evolving technologies and workflows in the 3D design field is crucial for staying competitive and producing high-quality work.

Key Performance Metrics:

• Quality of Work: The team will assess the visual quality and realism of 3D designs created by the candidate, ensuring they meet or exceed project expectations.
• Efficiency and Productivity: The team will evaluate the candidate's ability to complete projects or create assets in a timely manner, measuring both project completion time and the number of projects completed.
• Technical Proficiency: The team will gauge the candidate's proficiency in 3D software and their ability to optimize assets for real-time applications, ensuring they can effectively use advanced techniques and tools.
• Creativity and Innovation: The team will assess the candidate's ability to introduce creative and innovative elements into their designs, enhancing the overall visual appeal and user engagement.
• Problem-Solving: The team will evaluate the candidate's capability to overcome challenges, find efficient solutions, and adapt to evolving project requirements or design workflows. Quality of Work: The team will assess the visual quality and realism of 3D designs created by the candidate, ensuring they meet or exceed project expectations.
• Collaboration: the team will evaluate the candidate’s ability to collaborate with teammates, partners and customers.
